Camping
Exploring and Building Leadership in the Outdoors
Troop 49 typically goes camping one weekend out of every month, and always at different destinations, including Enchanted Rock, Krausse Springs, Inks Lake, Flying Armadillo, and a whole lot more. Depending on where we go, we may be hiking, backpacking, swimming, biking, canoeing, fishing, playing disc golf, building towers out of logs and rope...the list goes on.
Hiking the Davis Mountains
Rope swinging at Krausse Springs
Catching fish in Kerrville
Practicing canoeing skills
Along the way, scouts learn all sorts of skills, including camping, cooking, first aid, orienteering, pioneering, and a lot more. They also learn important lessons about working as a team.

Setting up for a bullseye
In the summertime, our scouts have the opportunity to go to week-long summer camps. Older scouts have the opportunity to set out on high adventure expeditions at one of the BSA's high adventure bases.
