The Enchanted Rock campout is scheduled for this weekend. Its some what unusual for us to have back to back campouts like this but due to Camporee being shifted from February to March it has worked out this way. We currently have two adults and 9 scouts singed up for this campout, and we are 3 seatbelt short of being able to transport everyone. I am hoping that we will have one more adult sign up to participate in this campout and provide transportation. The third vehicle will need to be able to carry 3 scouts and probably 5 to 6 packs. Please reply back as soon as possible if you can help out. Mr. SPL, Do we have planning for this campout on our meeting agenda? Here is the updated list and information on this campout. I currently have the following scouts and adults registered for this campout.
- Ben
- Forest
- Jesse
- Wes
- Iain
- James
- Mathew
- Tyler
- Griffin
- Mr. Morris
- Mr. White
If you are not on the list and want to attend this campout contact me as soon as possible. Everyone will meet at the church at 5:30. Please eat a meal prior to your arrival or bring something with you to eat, as there are no plans to stop for food on the way out. We will be camping in a primitive campsite that is just over a mile hike into the area. There will be no water, fire pits, tent pads, or cell phone service in the area, we will be somewhat isolated. Everyone will have to carry their own water, food, tent, bedding, cooking equipment, and personal items. There will not be any additional group food, water, or cooking equipment carried into camp for this trip. So everyone will have make sure they have planed accordingly. Everyone should have the following items with them on this trip.
- * Water (recommend 1 gallon)
- * Food (light weight, requires little or no water, none perishable, plan on only having one heated meal at the most).
- * Tent (light weight with rain fly)
- * Sleeping bag (light Weight compact)
- * Small flash light
- * Light weight rain jacket
- * Hiking boots
- * Back pack
- * Toilet paper
- * Trash bag (there are no trash bins at the primitive site)
- * Light weight stove and fuel (no ground fires are allowed in the primitive area)
- * Mess kit
The following items are required to attend this camp out.
- * Informed Consent Agreement
- * Closed toe shoes
- * Class A uniform for travel. I will have some copies of the required forms at the next meeting, or you print your own off the troop website.
